My favorite song :)

It’s so amazing that we have to do a post about music again. Music is all around us and deserves the proper tribute.
Today I’m going to talk about my favorite song ever. Like I said before, I’m a person with so many likes tastes in musical terms, but fortunately I had a favorite song. This song is called “Never forget you” and the band is The noisettes. I will not going to lie you guys, I’m not a fan of the band, its just that I love so bad this song. I mean It’s a great song, when you starts hear it, you feel the rhythm and you just know that you are going to start dance, it’s unavoidable, you listen the voice of the singer, and you can feel the passion. There you go, now you know that you have a new favorite song. I listen this song for first time a couple of years ago, then it was used for a lot of publicity spots, it’s like the officially song of “Alto las condes” the mall, and the commercial slogan is "the higher the better". I think that this is just sad. The song it’s obviously not about that, the song it’s about the feeling of never forget somebody, find it after a lot of time, and try to start again.

Hello all, today I’m going to talk about the topic of June 10.
In this time the subject of this post it’s going to be about Amelia, Tarantina y Tatiana.
First of all I will say who is Amelia. Well, Amelia is my lovely dog. She is a fox terrier chileno, and she is the most loyal, honest, funny and energetic animal that I ever had. My sister and I choose her name in memory of one of our favorite movies of all the times, Amelie.
And actually now that I know so well to Amelia y can say that she has a lot of things in common with Amelie Poulain, like both has a lovely spirit and both have true love in their hearts. We add Amelia in our family thanks to my sister’s boyfriend, who give us Amelia. My other pets are Tarantina y Tatiana. Tarantina is my beautiful hamster and I named her because of one of my favorite film’s director, Quentin Tarantino. Finally I will tell you about my turtle Tatiana, who is very funny because I think she believes she’s a dog because sometimes she pursuing our feet and receive us when we got home.
I think animals are very important in our life, but in general they need a lot of cares, such as food, water and if you treat them well they will give you all her love <3 <3

My favorite bands

Today Im going to talk about some bands that I like me a lot. Im not going to talk about one single band, because I don’t have a favorite groupe of music. Im not the kind of girl who actually like only one type of music, so I usually have differents songs on my personal playlist for all tastes. First I’m going to tell you that I enjoy a lot with the music of Radiohead, actually the name of my blog “Fake Plastic trees” it’s because of a song of this band. This alternative rock band it’s kind of depressive but it’s still being very good music.
Another band that I like too much is Oasis, the song that I most love of this group it’s called “Songbird” because I think it’s really inspiring and beautiful. I say that I loved this song, but the truth is that when is about Oasis, all the songs are really amazing.

Finally I’m going to mention one more band who has a lot of trajectory and they also do alternative rock, I’m talking about Pearl Jam, this amazing band it’s going to come to Chile but sadly the tickets are too expensive and I don’t have the money for goL My favorite song of this band is “Yellow ledbetter” because it reminds me the final scene of the movie 50/50.
I think the principal reason of that I love this band it’s because of Eddie Vedder, the singer of the band. His voice is so beautiful that even the angels are jealous of him.
I’m going to personally recommend the songs that this
singer-songwriter have produced for some movies, like the beautiful cover of The Beatles song “Hide your love away” for the movie I am Sam, or “Man of the hour” the song of my favorite movie Big fish, and of course the original soundtrack of Into the wild, where you can find the most closer and inspired songs of this singer like “Rise” or “Guaranteed”. 

Strikes

Today I’m going to talk about the strikes of the student movement.
It is a really complicated subject because I’m not participated constantly in the demonstrations for personal reasons, but in spite of everything I will talk about why is so important this particular strike.
I think if workers were before the new force for change, the students are now. All this social demonstrations are evidence necessary to prove that the system is unfair and inequality.
In this sence, I believe that the neoliberalism is the father of all problems. It generated the same inequality in all the roles of society, in this case education. It’s really sad that this happened even in our university which it is supposed to be one of the precursors of social change. For these reason I think this strike it’s completely necessary. 

Free theme, my favorite book ! :)

Hi everybody, today I’m going to talk about my favorite book; “The little prince”.
I want to talk about this because I think it’s a story that everyone knows and it’s also really inspired, so let’s get it started.

I read for the first time “the little prince” when I was eight years old, in the summer vacations. My family doesn’t have money for travel out of the city and me and my sister was really bored so my mom technically forced us to read this extraordinary tale. The only thing I remember it’s that I don’t understood the idea of the story, but through the pass of the years I began to realize everything.

I love “the little prince” because it reminds me about the best things in us. When I read the little prince I just feel that everything it’s possible and love is all around us. When I had a bad time in my life I read this book and suddenly I can feel the hope and the confidence of a better world, more fairer and more humane.
If you never had read “the little prince” I invite you to read it, I promise you, you will not regret it.  

stereotypes and clichés on movies ! :)

Dear all:

Today I’m going to talk about the topic that I choose for the presentation of Wednesday, I wish I would not have to do it because I like the surprises but whatever, here I go.

For my presentation I choose took about the stereotypes and clichés on movies through the history of cinema. I like this topic because, first of all it’s about films, and I really love films. Since I was a kid I used to watch a lot of movies with my family and I think that the seventh art deserves a appropriate tribute. Although there is a lot of clichés and stereotypes, in a lot of good movies and I think it’s interesting discover more about this characteristics on the films, because they all represents problems of this society, like discrimination and prejudice to some specifics groups.

My presentation, it’s going to talk first of all about the difference between Stereotypes and clichés (yes, this to words are not the same) after that, I’m going to give some types of the most famous Stereotypes (for example the stereotypes of the blonds, they are always foolish and pretty, but that’s it)  and clichés in the movies (Like the fact that in romantic movies there are always an airport scene, or a public declaration of love or the typical scene of explosion in slow motion on every single action movie) and of course I will give a lot of examples. Finally I will took about the importance of be less prejudiced and take the time to form your own opinion.

Anyway, I can’t wait to do my presentation, I hope you guys enjoy my subject J

GOOD TECHNOLOGY

I think my cell phone it’s the most useful thing that I have, sadly its out of order now. Today in the morning I try to turned on but it was useless. Do you guys maybe wonder why do I love so much my cell phone?  Because I had all my books on pdf, and I could read it because of an app called “pdf reader”. It was really amazing because when the books that I want to read are not on the library, I only have to download the pdf file from internet and put it into the SD card of my cellphone, and that’s it, enjoy your read!  

My cellphone it’s also important to me because I had bought with the salary of my first job since a year ago… Anyway, the other thing that I love of my cell phone it’s the comfort of have everything in the same place, if I want to took with a friend, or call my mom, or maybe check some information on google, get in to my u-cursos account (cause there is an app of u-cursos on google play too), save amazing photos,  even if I want to look a good movie or my favorite series, How I met your mother, I could do it on my cell phone because I had the Netflix app on it.  In fact I guess talk about this it’s breaking my heart... I hope the technical service can fix my poor baby because I can not imagine life without him hahah! Just kidding, it’s not like I could not live without him, but I think life was more easier when I had him … So I guess that’s all for today ! :)

Hi everyone again!  today I'm going to show you a special photograph for me, I wish I could show you more than one because it was a really hard desicion choose just one, but anyway here I go.

This picture it was taking by my best friend Ignacio, on 2013, when we was at Ventanas a placed near of Quintero. We have a lot of friend who lives in this beach, so we always go visit them for Easter Holidays. The picture is very special because at the bottom it's written a phrase, it's says "Llamame luego pero sin Ll" it's a word game, in english this can be translated literally like this way:  "Call me soon but without Ll" I know it's doesn't have sense but I will try to explain it. "Llámame luego" means "Call me soon" If you remove de Ll of the word "llámame" (because then says without ll) it will be transforming to the word "ámame" wich it means "Love me", after all that's the message behind this phrase. This kind of poetic quotes on walls are a social expression called "acción poética", on internet you can find a lot of this. I'm a big fan of this kind of demonstration, so when I saw this wall of the photograph I just had become crazy! I ask for a picture but my best friend took it before I was ready, I think thats why this picture it's so amazing because its improvised. Also I have good memories of this photograph, this kind of trips with friends: beach at the morning and bonfires at nights, are really exciting. I will always remember these days, like the happiest days of my life.

About food places

Write about somewhere you like to eat out or a place you enjoy going to. Say: What it’s called, Where it is, What it serves, What you like to eat there.

When it's about food I'm not very selective, I guess it's because I'm a food lover.
If I had to choose the best place to eat I think my house it's always going to be my number one choice. It's because my mom it's an amazing cook. She can cook anything that you can imagine, like lasagne, different kinds of fish, and also she knows a lot about pastry-making.
Anyway, when it's about food I think the dessert it's my weakness. I really love the sweet things. So when I go out with my best friend we always try to taste differents kinds of ice cream. Our favourite Ice cream shop is this place wich it's near to Plaza de Puente Alto, called "La chilenita". Unfortunately now they only sell Savory Ice Cream, this is really sad not only because the flavours are not so tasty, also the price of the ice cream it's really expensive now.
Another place where I like to go with my friends it's called "Open box" located in subway station "Las mercedes" this is a sort of pub with a great atmosphere, in this place you can eat, a lot of things, suchi, spaghettis and different kinds of ice cream.  When I go I sing karaoke all night long, drink a beer and eat a culinary pizza. Sadly this place it's really expensive, but it's ok if you want to have fun for a night.
Finally I have to say that one of the traditions of my family it's a place called "La Fuente alemana" situaded  in Plaza Italia. Here you can find different types of customary sandwiches, It's the best place if you want to eat a good "lomito italiano" (wich is my favourite one).
Anyway, talking about food wet my appetite, so I guess that's all for today :)

The city where I live.

What you like about the Santiago and why, What you dislike about the city and why, What changes would make the city a better place, What tips you would give to a visitor to the city

I really love to live in Santiago, I born here so I think this city always will be my home. At summer, I spend a lot of time out of the city, Although I really like travel, I  feel like suffocated when I'm not in Santiago for a long time.
What of the most things I love of this city is all the places that you can visited, like parks and bookstores.  You also have a lot of variety if you want to buy something, even if you want to go out at night, you can choose a lot of activities and have a good time.
What I don't like of Santiago it's the transportation of this. Every time I take the subway it's all full and I barely can in, also the public buses sometimes get late, all this it's really stressful.
I think the city it's just a reflex of the public politics, so all the changes that I would like to do to make the city a better place, are related with state improvements. I also think that the city need more green areas.
One of the places I really recommend it's Barrio Lastarria, because of his architecture and his lovely atmosphere.
Finally I think the must important thing of the city where we live is the people that it's around us, like our friends and our family, these special persons make everything better. It's because oh them, that every place that you have visited it's important.
For me, Santiago it always going to be a container of precious moments and memorys.

My favourite website

Hi guys! In the class of today I have to took about Intenet and websites, so thats why I'm going to do:
I really love the internet, I think it's an extraordinary work tool, you can used for everything: if you want to read a book, you can download it on Internet, even if you want to buy something you can do it on  Internet.
I used a lot the Internet, so I'm going to took about all the websites that I usually use. I really like been on Facebook, because I can took with my friends, watch pictures of them and get inform about some gossips jajaja.
Also when I get bored I really love tho watch movies on Netflix, this website it's one of my favourites.
But my favourite number one it's www.frasesdelapelicula.com, just because I love quotes and also I love movies. I discover this website when I was searching a quote of the movie Big Fish. Now everytime after I watch a good movie, I check the quotes of this on that website and it's amazing and inspiring.
Even I though Internet it's really possitive I also think this can be very negative for social relationships and affective bonds. Internet and social networks can damage the communication and the connection on real life.
Finally I can say that Internet can be good but only if you use with responsibility.

A little introduce about myself

Hi everyone, I'm Karina Guerra, a nineteen years old student of Social Work. 

I had to create this blog for English class so honestly I don't really know what is this all about. 
What else can I say about me? well, I'm a good reader, I think one of the most extraordinary things of the life it's read a good novel with a cup of tea in your hand. Also I love movies, movies are my personal passion, when I think in my entire life I can see my movies in a chronological order and feel the connection with my past trough them. I enjoy a lot with the travels because I think magical things happen when you take a chance and you do the unexpectedly.
Like I said first I'm studing Social Work, the reason of why I choose these career it's kind of personal, so maybe I will took of this in another occasion.
Also I have a lot of friends and I love to go out with them, make some jokes and laugh really laud.
Anyway, I hope share a lot of life and love with you in this blog so...this is it by now :)
